Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Move Without Pain, Live With Strength.

Expert MSK physiotherapy in Norwich for back and joint pain, muscle strains, and sports injuries. Treatment may combine exercise rehabilitation with soft-tissue techniques, joint or spinal mobilisation, acupuncture, taping, or massage where appropriate.

Treating the cause, not just the symptoms

Musculoskeletal physiotherapy treats conditions affecting the muscles, bones, joints, and soft tissues. With extensive NHS experience as a Senior Musculoskeletal Specialist, I help you manage pain, improve mobility, and restore function.

Pain and recurring injuries are often influenced by how different areas of the body move and work together, so I assess more than just the painful spot. Whether you're returning to high-impact sport or simply want everyday movement to feel easier, your recovery plan is built around a clear assessment and practical exercises that make sense.

Common Questions

What can musculoskeletal physiotherapy help with?

MSK physiotherapy can help with back and neck pain, knee, ankle, foot, hip, shoulder and upper-limb problems, joint stiffness, muscle strains, tendon and overuse problems, sports injuries, and recurring pain linked to movement or activity.

What happens at the first MSK appointment?

Ellie will discuss your symptoms, medical history, activities, and goals before assessing your movement, strength, and the affected area. She will then explain the findings and agree a rehabilitation plan with you.

What should I wear for an MSK assessment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and makes the affected area reasonably accessible. You are also welcome to bring any relevant scan results, medical notes, or reports.

Will treatment include hands-on therapy or acupuncture?

Your plan may include exercise and education alongside soft-tissue or myofascial release, joint or spinal mobilisation, selective spinal manipulation, acupuncture or dry needling, kinesiology taping, and clinical massage where appropriate. Ellie will explain each option and tailor treatment to your assessment, preferences, and goals.

How many MSK sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on the nature of the problem, how long it has been present, and your recovery goals. Ellie will give you a clearer recommendation after the initial assessment and review progress with you.
